The Brow Lift
The brow lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure which is performed to correct a sagging brow. This procedure is also useful for smoothing wrinkles and furrows of the forehead and between one’s eyebrows. If the lines on your forehead and brow are aging you prematurely, a brow lift may be the solution.
Benefits of a Brow Lift
A brow lift creates a smoother appearance of skin across the forehead and brow region, which can restore a youthful appearance. Eyebrows are also elevated, which reduces the excess skin of the upper eyelid. This procedure can also be performed with an eyelid procedure to minimize lines and rejuvenate both the eyes and forehead region.
The Brow Lift Procedure
A brow lift can be performed using two different methods: conventional and endoscopic.
The conventional method involves the use of incisions, which are typically made near the ear. During a conventional brow lift procedure, the skin of the forehead and brow are lifted, and facial muscles in the area are repositioned while excess skin and tissue is removed. Staples or sutures are made at the incision site, which are removed approximately one week after the procedure.
During an endoscopic brow lift, a number of microscopic incisions are made across the scalp. Using the endoscopic surgical instrument, Dr. Arzadon can complete the brow lift with minimal visible scarring and loss of sensation.
The brow lift procedure typically requires a recovery period of approximately a week. Swelling and bruising of the upper facial area may last 7 to 10 days, although you will be able to wear makeup after about 3 days. You may experience numbness at the surgical site, itching, minor hair loss, and some discomfort after the procedure.
